Inspiration
The amount of funk music playing in the room. We like funk and food.
What it does
The web application gives users the ability to input food truck name, location and times that they open and close. User is also able to see all of the food trucks.
How we built it
Python backend and react-native frontend using Google maps API and CockroachDB Serverless Database
Challenges we ran into
- Setting up the CockroachDB took a couple hours
- We had to switch from Java to Python halfway through the time.
- Connecting the Python api to the react-native application took time
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Setting up the database
- Finishing the backend
- First time freshman member Abdul learned a lot.
What we learned
- No more monsters.
- Research documentation of databases and environments before starting
