Inspiration
The pill/prescription space has long been neglected to the orange pill box. After pillpacks initial innovation, there is little to provide patients with a hassle free system to deal with their tablets.
Specifically, those with multiple or many prescription or vitamin pills to take can have a hassle managing various different tablet containers. PillDrop is one sleek device with a subscription model to fill the device weekly. The patients are able to automatically be reminded of doses and get all of their daily supplements in one cartridge.
Our blood test analysis is able to show patients what supplements they need to take based on their results. We are able to find vitamin deficiencies in line with your current doctor, or one that is provided to you.
An efficient, tamper-proof system for convenient intake or supplements you need.
What it does
Our iOS app paired with our PillDrop hardware tech allows for a convenient one-stop process for ordering your supplements.
Patients will upload their blood tests results, which provide us with the vitamin deficiencies they may be facing. We can then begin a treatment plan through weekly cartridges that can safely and easily deliver the pills when the patients needs to take them.
How I built it
Arduino and servo motors were used to build the PillDrop device.
The iOS application was used to analyze blood tests and guide the patient through the process.
Challenges I ran into
Implementing a device with a low fail rate was difficult. Especially in situations like these where patients need to have their medicine, it was difficult to bring the error rate down.
