Inspiration
Our inspiration for this game was our passion for environmental awareness.
What it does
PISTRIS is a fun side-scrolling game where you play as Byte the Shark and try to avoid the plastic in the ocean before it hurts you.
How we built it
We built PISTRIS using only Python and PyGame and PAINT.NET for the assets.
Challenges we ran into
As first year programmers with very little to no experience, our first major challenge was learning how to use GitHub and collaborate. We also had some issues with the menu and end screens.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to finish a fully functioning game with a UI that excedes our expectations.
What we learned
We learned how to collaborate in a group and how to lay out a game plan to create a project.
What's next for PISTRIS
For PISTRIS, we hope to use our freetime to expand on all aspects of PISTRIS, making it a better overall game and a more enjoyable experience that will attract more people.
