PlantEasy

Inspiration

We came up with this idea as we thought of how planting was very complicated, as data for planting such as how often and when you should water them, coupled with other factors of growing a plant.

What it does

Gives information on many common plants. This information would be used for growing and maintaining the plant. The echoAR technology that was implemented in a way to help the user visualize their plant in their backyard.

How we built it

We built PlantEasy using Html and CSS. We used pictures of different plants and implemented them into augmented reality using echoAR.

Challenges we ran into

We had trouble establishing what coding language we were going to use. As we started building this project, we were forced to use swift, and since we have a windows computer, we could not run swift at all. It would be a lot of my time wasted as we would find a way to use swift.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of making the html, as this site would come as very useful for our endeavors of making PlantEasy as we were new to using netlify. We are also proud of the echoAR technology that we have implemented into this project as it gives a sense of reality.

What we learned

We learnt a lot about coding languages like swift and html, as we needed to learn both since we were planning on making an IOS counterpart. This IOS counterpart was out main goal, but since we couldn't figure out how to use swift on a non mac os computer we did not have the opportunity to do so.

What's next for PlantEasy

We would plan on making many other plants accessible, not only the 5 that we have noted down. We also plan on improving the echoAR technology by using 3D images.
