Inspiration
The staggering rate at which corruption is increasing in society is a serious concern of everyone. It is clear that existing methods that have been used for a long time won’t solve this issue. We can only depend on sophisticated solutions that will help us in restricting it. This is where blockchain comes as a major pillar for building applications to take achieve this. After researching, it was clear that each and every organization is susceptible to corruptive practices. So, we wanted to build a blockchain application that will help control corruption and at the same time, it should not be limited to a single type of organization in terms of its structure. It should be able to adopt irrespective of the organization’s structure and keep a check on the organization’s finances.
What it does
The blockchain application helps organizations to manage and keep a check on their finances irrespective of the organization type or their structure. The blockchain solution can adapt to any organizational structure as per requirement and the organization themselves can tailor their structure. It handles every transaction inside an organization using the tokens organization has chosen to use.
Challenges we ran into
- Testing and debugging of smart contracts for transactions of tokens.
- Making a defi-app sure brought a fair share of challenges at different stages with it.
- Connecting Chainlink external API to get off-chain data into our smart contract.
- Connecting the solidity code to the frontend using Web3js was a tough task so we tried some different approaches for that.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Participation in the first-ever hackathon.
- Getting started Blockchain Technology.
- Completing a project in just 1 month.
- Creating our own ERC20 tokens for the application was quite satisfying.
What we learned
- Time management, use of charts (burnout chart) for time management.
- Building an entire defi application as a whole was the biggest thing we learned. We also learned the necessary tools required to make the project. -Solidity
- Chainlink external API
- Running Chainlink node
- Developing REST API
- Apart from all these the most important thing we learned was teamwork. Integration of all the parts separately requires good understanding and trust between the teammates. Without teamwork, this project was never possible.
What's next for PliantChain
- PliantChain faced some difficulties while connecting the front-end with Chainlink API. We'll focus to make the connection seamless and try to work on the time taken to process the entire request.
- Make the front end more user-friendly that fulfills the needs of the organization better.
