Inspiration

We wanted to help Speech and hearing impaired individuals.

What it does

It is a video chatting app based on P2P network architecture with sign language detection and transcription inbuilt

How we built it

We built it using python,Mediapipe and tkinter

Challenges we ran into

The number of signs that it detects are limited as we didn't have the required dataset but the modular structure of the project allows it to be extended to more signs.

This already won two hackathons

What we learned

We learnt about controlling system features and AI/ML

What's next for Polinyx

We plan to implement it using a better and faster tech stack and have multiple users talk with each other.
