Inspiration

Politicon was inspired by the growing divide in political discourse and the widespread financial misunderstanding of public policy. Many people align with parties based on identity rather than understanding how legislation directly affects their income, savings, education, or business. We wanted to create a system that replaces partisan framing with measurable economic impact.

What it does

Politicon is a personalized AI political and economic informant. It tracks government policy in real time, analyzes legislation and economic decisions, and translates them into clear, individualized financial impact reports. Users can see how taxes, interest rates, healthcare changes, or spending bills affect their personal financial situation through simplified explanations and visual projections.

How we built it

We designed Politicon using AI powered language models combined with structured economic data analysis. The system processes policy updates, applies financial modeling logic based on user inputs, and generates simplified summaries and impact visualizations tailored to each user profile. Furthermore, we decided to go with a purple color theme, as that reflects the merging of Democrats (blue) and Republicans (Red).

Challenges we ran into

Major challenges included ensuring neutrality, building transparent analysis layers, managing API costs, and translating complex policy language into accurate but simplified financial projections. Balancing clarity with precision was especially difficult.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We developed a working prototype that demonstrates real time policy tracking, personalized financial breakdowns, and bias minimizing summaries. We also established a clear mission centered on financial literacy and civic transparency.
