The Game of Life: But You're Poor

In this world, there are many people who are currently living in poverty. And this concurrently becomes a big problem as every minute passes. At the same time, people like us are under a rock, where we don’t easily understand the hardships that one has to go through in order to help sustain themselves and their families while living in poverty. This can be solved with the help of our prototype simulation called The Game of Life: But You’re Poor. This simulation is a world where the user is able to experience the life of living in poverty through given decisions and keeping track of their financial situation.

This project was built React.js. In addition, as a group, some of the challenges that we have encountered was thinking of ways of making the experience very enjoyable to the user. We were afraid that the user might get easily bored while playing the simulation, to make it both educational and fun, we have fun facts about poverty as well as allowing users to enjoy the feeling of being able to make a decision that may impact the ending. At the end of the day, we have learned a lot in regards to the programming language we used, React.js. In addition, by doing this project, we as a group were able to get more insight into the world that we live in, which eventually help us become more driven to the mission of trying our best into being educated about the world and issues that exist around us, which can inspire people in solving it, making the world a better place.
