Inspiration
Our inspiration behind this project stems from the challenges we’ve faced as students and individuals navigating the job market. Interviews can be scary, and we wanted to create a tool that empowers people to practice and gain confidence before stepping into real-life situations.
What it does
Prepifi simulates a realistic interview environment to help individuals prepare effectively. By leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies, it provides tailored interview questions, evaluates responses, and offers constructive feedback, all in real time.
How we built it
Using OpenAI’s advanced capabilities, we integrated tools like Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text to create a dynamic, interactive experience. Cohere's powerful chat API allowed us to design an intelligent, conversational AI capable of adapting to the user's responses. The backend was built with Django, and the frontend was developed with React for a seamless and intuitive user interface.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was integrating the frontend and backend components while ensuring real-time responsiveness.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re incredibly proud of creating a fully functional platform within a limited timeframe. Learning and implementing new tools like OpenAI, Cohere, and real-time audio processing were significant milestones. Most importantly, we’ve built something that can genuinely help users improve their interview skills and boost their confidence.
What we learned
We learned to overcome technical challenges related to things such as real-time audio processing and using conversational AI within our project. We also learned how to leverage AI tools like OpenAI and Cohere for practical applications.
What's next for Prepifi
Some of the features we want to add in the future would include things such as an eye tracker, a bpm system and multilingual support. Additionally, we want to implement a human-like interviewer to further enhance the realism of the interview so we can help users to get to that next level in their career.
