Our inspiration for this project sprang from the wondrous world of Alice and Wonderland, and more specifically from the bustling community of students, professors, and faculty in the whimsical halls of the Mad Hatter's School. Have you ever found yourself wondering how many curious minds were exploring the vast expanse of the Wonderland Library? Or even more curiously, how many tea sets and toadstools were available in the North Reading Room? Fear not, for FEJA is here to cater to your every need and provide a convenient, easy-to-use, and sustainable tool for every curious student in this topsy-turvy land.
To build the web application, we used HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and REACT.
Challenges we ran into: connecting the database to our web application and scanning through the tables to connect the data were challenges we faced since it was our first time working with a database.
This is FEJA’s first ever hackathon. We struggled a lot in finding the right project, audience, and approach. We are proud of our originality of the idea, the web pages we were able to create, and the hard work we put into figuring out a database we never used before.
And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, - as our database grows with user input and usage over time, we plan to use that information to predict the future availability of study spots on campus. Our goal is to make finding a study spot as predictable as the Mad Hatter's tea party.
