Inspiration Inspired by classic egg-drop challenges and NASA's LOFTID HIAD tests, Project Egg Drop aims to safely return space samples from Moon/Mars without parachutes or propulsion purely through smart aerodynamics and crushable materials. ​

What it Does Deploys HIAD for hypersonic reentry braking, shields samples from 100+ W/cm² heat and g-forces, then uses titanium lattice crush zones for terminal soft landing. Delivers 10-100kg payloads intact, anywhere on Earth. ​

How We Built It Designed in Autodesk Inventor ​

What We Learned HIAD drag scales exponentially with diameter; lattices outperform foams in dynamic shocks. Precise material gradients prevent stress concentrations. ​
