Party Wise

Inspiration

The Indian film Band-Bajaa-Baraat, where a duo starts a wedding planning business in India. A line in the movie said (this is translated in English) "Whether there is recession or inflation, people still throw parties and drop millions on them." I watched this movie at 3:00 am the night before the hackathon and it all just kind of clicked as an idea for me. Why not take the stress out of party planning.

What it does

It helps find vendors, venues and plans out parties from the guest-list to budgets. It also surfs through Instagram and Facebook to find affordable finds.

How we built it

I used Digital Ocean to create an AI agent that was in charge of the actual party planning aspect of this: the guest list, vendors, caterers and even added a database to stream through Facebook and Instagram groups I am in for vendors and small businesses.

Challenges I ran into

Figuring out what I wanted this project to do. A party planner has so many different hats and focusing on a few specific areas was very difficult for me I can't lie.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Honestly finishing in time! I had a final before this and one right after so the fact that I submitted anything is lowkey a miracle.

What we learned

I need to start working on more clears goals for my projects!

What's next for Project Wise

I plan to further explore the instgram/facebook aspect because I think this is a great tool for those looking for affordable party planning resources.
