Inspiration
People in college have trouble handling stress and can often suffer from depression, so we wanted to create a service where friends of the struggling person could "subscribe" them to the service and send them uplifting "prompliments" throughout the day.
What it does
Sends uplifting compliments to brighten people's days.
How we built it
We used IBM's Bluemix, and HTML/CSS and Javascript to create the webapp and then utilized the Twilio API to send the messages.
Challenges we ran into
IBM's Bluemix crashed in the last 40 minutes of the hack, in which the last step had to be accomplished. We were unfamiliar with the languages, the platform and the entirety of web dev.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Tackling a problem which we were unfamiliar with and using services and languages we hadn't used before.
What we learned
We learned HTML, javascript, CSS, Bluemix, and the Twilio API.
What's next for Prompliment
We want to finish implementing it and release it to our college campus with hopes to help people at other universities or in other stressful environments where our service can help them.
