We were inspired by the need to support individuals dealing with anxiety and PTSD. By focusing on a simple, accessible solution, we aim to provide relief through technology. PulseCalm guides users through structured breathing exercises, helping them regulate their heart rate and achieve a calmer state of mind. The project was developed using Arduino and various hardware components. We integrated sensors and a display to provide real-time feedback and instructions for the breathing exercises. We encountered several challenges, particularly with the LCD display and hardware functionality. Troubleshooting these issues required in-depth analysis and iteration. We are proud of our ability to identify and solve the problems we encountered. Through persistence and teamwork, we overcame technical obstacles, gaining valuable hands-on experience. The project taught us the importance of patience in coding and hardware development. We also gained practical knowledge of Arduino and configuring hardware components. We plan to expand the features of PulseCalm by adding more breathing exercises and improving the user interface to make the experience more intuitive and user-friendly.
