Inspiration
PvP Grounds inspiration is to create a realistic "Gladiator" experience with great sound effects but also maximized performance while leaving the physics engine on!
What it does
Players grab their favorite weapon, and a choice of off-hand (either shield or dagger) and fight against eachother.
How we built it
I built it on Worlds Desktop Editor mostly. GenAI helped me the most.
Challenges we ran into
Well, lots of challenges. Once player defeated, on mobile was okay but on VR couldn't be able to get a sword (fixed with triggers) Once player defeated, had to reset the hands. (force grabbing an invisible object and emptying hands now) Weapon swings on Mobile. Safe Zone... Triggers shouldn't be able to work in the weapon choose area, took a real long time. Weapon on GrabEnd removing fixed with an event manager that listens for it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I had no teammates, I'm only proud I could come this far by my own...
What we learned
I learnt that I need a scripter partner if I'll continue building worlds =)
What's next for PvP Grounds
Next is to see if people will like the game, I've tried to minimize the bug possibilities but only the time will show. If it was only for VR, it could be much easier. Both optimizing both VR and Mobile was really difficult.
