Inspiration
We wanted to create a unique and aesthetic twist to the classic side-scroller game, the lonely T-rex.
What it does
It is a Side-Scroller game where you have to collect the coins on the screen and make sure not to hit the obstacles on the ground and the spikes in the air. You can choose from 3 different difficulties: easy, medium, and hard. Also, there is a selection of 4 different characters with each character having a different obstacle
How we built it
We made the game using Python. We had to install modules from Pygame as the modules needed are not native to Python3.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge we ran into was figuring out exactly what each module did because it was our first time working with them, so quite a bit of time was put into understanding what they did. Also, getting sound to work in the game was another challenge because depending on if it was music or a sound different modules had to be used, we did not know this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the fact that we actually completing a working game within the time given. Because going into it all of us had minimal project experience with Python
What we learned
We learned how to make a game in Python. Also, we gained a much better understanding of how Python works
What's next for Quacky-Bird
We may add this game onto steam for a very cheap price or for free after more development.
