Inspiration
In Canada, several school boards only permit the usage of Google Meets for virtual classes/meetings and don't allow other popular alternatives such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Google Meets is quite limited in terms of features and arises many difficulties for both teachers and students.
What it does
Students can anonymously submit questions to teachers to appear in the table. If other students have the same question, they may click the button beside it to let the teacher know they have the same question. For teachers, by seeing how many students are asking that same question, they can gauge if the material needs to be reviewed or re-taught for that lesson.
How I built it
I built this using HTML, CSS and Javascript in the Visual Studio Code IDE.
Challenges I ran into
The biggest challenge was learning how to use HTML, CSS and Javascript and making them work together in less than 40 hours. Additional challenges included learning how to make the website interact with the Javascript code.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Making a website on my own, a clever name for it and a logo.
What I learned
I learned many new concepts of web development such as margins and padding. I also learned a lot of Javascript syntax.
What's next for Questionarium
Saving questions on to the cloud, making teacher and student login portals, and making individual classroom websites for each classroom.
