What is Reachable?

Reachable is an online booking platform that seamlessly connects users to doctors in a button's reach. In here, we have compiled an assortment of hospitals full of different specializations to accommodate your needs. Book and pay for any appointment in just a few clicks! We are here to alleviate your worries, ails, and sicknesses.

The 3-step Process

Step 1: Input your locality (your neighborhood, your town etc.), required specialist, and/or a specific doctor.

Step 2: Select a doctor and service according to your needs. Schedule of the appointment is based on user choice and doctor availability.

Step 3: Input your details and payment to confirm appointment. BOOKED. That's it!

Inspiration

Organization in the healthcare industry is sadly lacking. It is common all over the world to wait hours for appointments, or to be put on hold during customer service calls— only to for the hospital to be overbooked or your appointment cancelled. These experiences discourage people from seeking professional help. They would rather wait out their symptoms until it eventually passes. The stress, frustration, and hassle from bad service overshadows the pain from their illness.

We, at Reachable, understand these struggles and wish to support patients to the best of our ability. Our website allows the luxury of quick and efficient booking at your fingertips. Worry no more about getting that doctor's appointment, and focus on your safe and fast recovery!

How We Built It

We brainstormed and planned our pitch as a team before starting the creation process. Website design was produced through Canva, while the working website prototype was made using Java, HTML, and CSS.

Challenges We Ran Into

With teammates located from around the globe, our timezones forced us to quickly adapt and plan ahead in order to create Reachable. Luckily, our persevering and capable team was able to work through these problems, and figure out a schedule that accommodates all.

Accomplishments That We’re Proud of

In the short amount of time provided by the organisers, we were able to:

  1. Design six completed website pages that consists of the main flow of our website.
  2. Incorporate all of the features we wanted in our original plan.
  3. Create a working prototype on a few key aspects of our website.
  4. Present a pitch that explains the ins and outs of our website.
  5. Build lasting friendships and experiences with one another.

All in all, a happy success for our hardworking team!

What We Learned

As a team, we improved on a great deal of skills along the way, such as communication, pitch creation, graphic design, video editing, how to apply code to real life scenarios, website design and development, and teamwork. We realized that a powerful team and teamwork can make anything possible! The hard work and team effort that was put into this project was what made it such an amazing and fulfilling experience.

What's Next For Reachable

We hope in the future to make Reachable a reality. By partnering with a variety of hospitals in different countries all over the globe, we can make this website a useful tool for all. Our ideal is a large assortments of specialists that cater to specific needs in order to not only treat common ailments, but also niche diseases. This is only the start of Reachable's mission to make healthcare accessible to all!
