Inspiration
While on our way to the Hackathon, we read about how some people got charged a lot more than they usually did for a service but they never found out till it was too late and they had been paying the increased price for a while. We thought we would create an app that would make it easier to track those recurring payments and to alert the user incase any increases in price were detected.
What it does
Recurtrack a platform for both Android and iOS that connects to your bank account using Google Cloud to alert any fraudulent or misleading monthly transactions.
How we built it
We first designed a template that we could use to build the app. Then we used flutter to create the front end of the app
Challenges we ran into
We had a bunch of trouble getting started with Flutter, both with setting it up and learning how to use it. There was also some trouble getting our data out from our server to our app
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We created an app that looks pretty good on our first time using Flutter, and it is also able to use user data to populate fields
What I learned
We learned how to use Flutter to create apps for both Android and iOS
What's next for Recurtrack
While creating the app was a momentous feat for us as we are relatively new to using Flutter, we have no current plans to continue developing Recurtrack
