  An eco-friendly lottery game that encourages youth to recycle more and show their creativity by creating something best out of waste!

Inspiration

Nature is something we all are surrounded by. It is so beautiful that spending time outside can relieve stress, looking at trees & birds in the sky makes us joyful. Whenever I feel confused, stressed, or alone, I quietly sit on the terrace staring beautiful sunset. Overall Nature is something that actually helps us a lot in many ways but in return, it just requests us to maintain it properly. In today's era, if we will notice we can see that we actually didn't value our mother nature and do activities that are harmful to it. Cutting Trees, Throwing Garbage on roads & parks, constructing buildings in the forest regions, etc. I just made this project so that I can pay back to nature for what it gave me. Games are actually something which has a great influence on Youth and everyone wants to win prizes playing them, so I thought to build something which can increase creativity in youths and also that should contribute to preserving nature.

What it does

RecycloMade is a decentralized organization that aims to encourage people to recycle waste items and make something unique & best out of them in order to make Earth a better place to live in. We aim to build a community of enthusiasts who'll help us achieve our goal of creating 1 million handmade recycled items. RecycloMade is a lottery game where users can participate by signing through metamask and in order to win prizes they must recycle waste items and create handmade items from them. After that, they have to mint NFT of their work by clicking pictures of their handmade item and submitting it in the form on the website. We will select the best handmade crafts and reward users with gifts and prizes. This game will spread awareness about the importance of recycling and make people recycle more and show creativity by making handmade items. Global Warming is a serious concern and the Recyclomade community understands it, we will work more to make our Dapp better and useful.

How we built it

• Polygon Dapp - The whole app is deployed on Polygon Mumbai Testnet.

• IPFS - Used NFT Port to mint the images clicked by the users. NFTs which are uploaded through NFTPort are uploaded on IPFS.

• POAP - POAP API is used for displaying and interacting with existing POAPs. Also, we will award the active supporters of the project with POAPs to encourage them.

• NFTPort - NFTPort's API is used to upload the image of the plant which is planted by the users.

• Chainlink - Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function)

• This is used to generate a random winner from the list of people who have created handmade items by recycling waste products on a particular day and have minted their NFTs.

• Chainlink Keepers Functions -

• This is used to automate the smart contracts by running the Verifiable Random Function to help in selecting the winner every day.

• The checkUpkeep function will check if the auction/grant ended or not. the performUpkeep function will automatically execute the functions in a set time period when the day has ended. This function also automatically sends the amount to the winner of that day.

Challenges we ran into

After getting through about building something for nature and increasing the involvement of youth in that, It was a challenge how to bring these two on one platform, as today youngsters think less about nature and we want many to come forward to participate in this project in large numbers. So games & Prizes were something, new generations are fond of, So I merged all these concepts and build an eco-friendly lottery game.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Many people on Twitter, Facebook, and Discord played our lottery game and reshared it with their friends and family. They promoted it in various groups and made compliments. We are happy that more people are getting aware of Nature preservation through our project.

What we learned

We learned a lot in the phase of building this project. We came across many facts about nature and other steps we can take to reduce carbon emissions. We learned how we can make our project interesting so that even youths can enjoy and learn more about nature. We also faced many technical issues because we were trying to build it differently but it was fun to do it!

What's next for RecycloMade

We will work more on this project to bring features of Blogs Reading So that people can get news updates and the latest blogs like Saving Planet Earth, Go Green Concept, Save Soil movement, etc. After all upgrades, we will look for funding so that we can make it better and scale it further to get more people engaged with this game.
