The core idea behind Reel Rest is simple yet impactful. We wanted to create an app that allows users to block and unblock Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts with ease. By doing so, users can take control of their time, focus on more productive activities, and reduce the addictive pull of endless scrolling. To achieve this, we divided our work into two main parts: the backend and the frontend. I focused on the backend development using Java and Spring Boot, while my friend Abdul worked on the frontend design and integration. Unfortunately we weren't able to find more team members to fulfill the missing roles, one backend and an entrepreneur which rendered our ability to finish the project successfully.

Backend Development: We used Spring Boot to develop the APIs of the program that handles the blocking and unblocking functionality. These APIs are designed to communicate with our app and manage the content restrictions based on user preferences. Frontend Development: For the frontend, Abdul utilized Figma to design the user interface. Figma allowed us to create a visually appealing and user-friendly design that we envisioned for Reel Rest.
