RELAXITO 🗝

Secret

User authentication has been particularly important in maintaining the reliability of wireless networking technologies as technical advancements have accelerated. The authentication mechanism relies heavily on passwords. The user's password is submitted to the authentication server with the traffic during the authentication process, allowing the server to grant access to the authorized user. The criminals will take advantage of the opportunity to attempt and sniff out other people's keys and codes in order to carry out illegal activities under the guise of other people's identities in order to stay out of trouble.

Inspiration 🌞

Many of us find it difficult to express our emotions to others. And even though someone is normally good at expressing their feelings, it gets more complicated when they are under a lot of stress. Along one's fruitful journey, one may face a variety of emotional challenges. It's difficult to handle these on our own, so it's important to learn to open up. It takes a lot of courage to be vulnerable. To be raw and unprocessed. And be willing to take a chance. Allowing you to see your true self – and allowing yourself to see your true self. It's past time to tell it as it is and put these pretences aside, leaving the house without a mask on, exposing your inner self.

What it does 🤔

The main aim of this app (“Relaxito”) is to make people express themselves more freely, and during the start of the pandemic, there was a trend going on Instagram by the students where everyone was sharing a secret anonymously to an account which was responsible for sharing them, through their confession’s page.

How we built it ⚙🔨

  • Relaxito is an app that allows users to submit their secrets by staying anonymous, which only authenticated users are authorized to view.
  • So, for frontend we have used HTML along with ejs for templating, CSS and Bootstrap for design.
  • And for backend we've used JavaScript, Node, Express along with MongoDB as a database.
  • And we’ve passport.js for authentication through google Oauth and encryption along with salting.

Challenges we ran into 🤼

  • Some of the technology skills were new for us then also we thought to give it a go so as to upgrade our existing skills and to learn something new.
  • It is obvious that we ran into errors. But the debugging process will always remain the fun part 🤣

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🦚

  • The frontend of the app wasn't looking any good this morning, but then we decided to rush and work and stretch ourselves in order to finish this by the deadline.
    • This taught us: We shouldn’t lose hope even till the game ends, as the famous saying “Champions are made in the 4th quarter”. Finally we made it through and were proud of the look of this app.

What we learned 🏅

Sharing our stories is healing for us. There is a "right" moment to share with everyone. The "right" moment will be different for different people. People living with mental illnesses must be able to tell when it is appropriate to begin communicating and with whom they wish to share. However, we believe that the more people a person with a mental illness shares with, the better they can realise that these people have a relationship with someone else who has suffered with mental illness in some way. Another benefit of sharing is that it allows one to support people, which is very healing.

Teamwork is important, time management is a crucial part when working with a deadline, Design and documentation skills also matter and most importantly having fun while working.

It is beneficial to share our thoughts in order to minimise negativity. We not only inspire and motivate others by sharing our stories, but we also want to engage more people in conversations around mental health and, as a result, minimise stigma. It's important that we do whatever we can to eliminate the stigma. If the stigma of mental illness is lifted, people may be encouraged to speak openly about it and seek help more easily (and willingly).

What's next for Relaxito ⏭

Now, about the future plans, we are currently thinking of spending some more time on this and would like to add a like button(to know the popularity of the secret) and a sort functionality mainly on the basis of likes.
