Inspiration
The Thailand problem appealed to us as third world countires do not have easy access to healthcare services. This was an attempt to introduce an idea, to provide a solution to this problem.
What it does
A platform for remote & real-time EKG relay of data, for a cost-effective and early detection of cardiac disease.
How we built it
We got ECG & PPG anonymized data acquired from Misceo Grand technologies, visualised in side-chart. We employed Web-RTC enabled video calling using Temasys API. Data is accessed using Firebase. Machine learning is used in anomaly detection algorithm, to detect heart-beat anomalies.
Challenges we ran into
The potential of the project is big, and we had to narrow it down to a specific use-case. Additionally, it was a big learning curve in understanding how to interact with the electrophysiology data. Integrating the chart display software into the app was difficult, especially in real-time. It was the team's first time to use Firebase.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Setting up video conferencing
- Visualized the data taken from the sensor, on the smartphone screen
- Integrating the Fire-base with our web-app
- Integrating our solution with one of the biggest health and social burdens: heart failure.
