Inspiration:

At a rental service, we used to rent out laptops to students, but due to unknown reasons all our database vanished and now we do not have any access to who we lent out laptops.

What it does:

  1. With an emphasis on tech rentals, it makes renting simple and transparent for users and consumers alike.
  2. Uses wallet addresses as distinct key identifiers and blockchain technology to ensure that user input cannot be changed. Users may also rent out their own products for others to use in addition to renting stuff from the website.

How we built it:

The organization in question is built using React for the front end and Cartesi for blockchain implementation. The integration of blockchain ensures transparency and immutability of rental transactions by recording entries with users' wallet addresses as unique identifiers. Users can rent items from the website or list their own items for rent, facilitating a peer-to-peer rental marketplace.

Challenges we ran into:

  1. Integration of metamask with react.
  2. Figuring out the integration of Arbitrum and sepholia.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Perfect working of metamask with our application. Learnt Cartesi and successful implementation

What we learned:

Blockchain, Cartesi, GoDaddy, Arbitrum, ChainLink, React. Debugging (that's a big one)! Integration of 2 different technologies together

What's next for rentLinkers:

Making rentLinkers customizable for the entire rental market and integration with ML model for image recognition to get more transparency between the rental market and the customer.
