Inspiration

Ever opened a README that is literally negative aura? Like, a medieval scroll written by an AI with zero rizz and major commitment issues? 💀

That’s where Reporot swoops in - it’s giving main character energy. It’s like your caffeinated bestie who actually locks in to explain the repo, shows you how to run it so you’re not a certified crashout, and tells you what the skibidi it actually is.

No more phantom tax on your braincells. We’re upgrading your GitHub from the uncanny valley to straight sigma. It’s instant comprehension for the soul-crushed - we’re cooking now. 🗣️🔥

What it does

Reporot is the ultimate wingman for your repositories. It looks at a messy project and instantly generates a README that isn't a total snoozefest. It tells you what the code actually does, how to run it without a crashout and cleans up the visual clutter so your repo finally hits the for you page and you learn without the fanum tax.

How I built it

We used Anti-Gravity, Fast API, Python, React, Gemini AI

Challenges I ran into

Errors Errors Errors Fanum Tax. Long and confusing Repos but thankfully we used our own service to simplify them for us! The prompt engineering was a whole mood. At first, the AI was giving me major yap instead of actual info. Getting it to understand niche codebases without it losing its mind was a struggle and we almost had a minor villain arc trying to fix the API integration.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The tool is officially valid. It can take a repo that’s absolute chaos and turn it into something with maximum aura. I managed to make the output actually readable, which is a huge W for the dev community. In addition, our Group had a massive Yap session!

What I learned

I learned that most READMEs are just phantom tax for your brain. I also realized that building a tool that actually helps people lock in is way more satisfying than just making another "Hello World" project. My coding skills definitely got a level up. And you should be careful who you live with. You need a .env file and remember to save it manually. Also, spraying is not good. Not flushing the toilet as well. It was a fulfilling hackathon.

What's next for Reporot

We’re not done cooking yet. I want to add a feature that automatically generates visuals for the repo and maybe a "TLDR" mode for when you have zero attention span. We’re taking Reporot to the moon. What the helly!
