A research assistant that helps university/college students streamline their research. Our knowledge graph based sorting allows for easy access to relevant papers to allow for more efficient research.

What it does

Research Map AI is your intelligent assistant for navigating complex information. It automatically scans the web for relevant academic papers, articles, and data, then generates a dynamic knowledge graph. This visual map highlights key concepts, authors, theories, and their interconnections, giving you an immediate, intuitive overview of your research topic. It transforms scattered information into clear, actionable insights.

How we built it

The backend integrates the Tavily API for robust web scraping and intelligent information retrieval. To process, understand, and structure this data into a coherent knowledge graph, we utilized a powerful LLM API, enabling us to identify complex relationships and synthesize information effectively.

Challenges we ran into

The most notable challenge was managing API rate limits. This required us to implement strategic caching and optimize our request handling to ensure consistent performance and avoid service interruptions.

We are glad to have successfully brought our vision of a dynamic knowledge graph for research assistants to life, proving its potential to provide meaningful connections in a research context.
