The RevUp Driving app is designed to rapidly give as many drivers as possible the ability to save money by driving safely and by driving efficiently. It does this by leveraging the ubiquity of smartphones, and combining easily accessible software with high-fidelity OBD-II open data to give drivers instantaneous and comprehensive “total driving safety scores”, and equating these scores to monetary savings.
There are four key features of the RevUp Driving app:
- The software can be used on widely accessible smartphones.
- It provides drivers with instant, monetized feedback.
- It “gamifies” the experience of becoming a better, safer, and more efficient driver.
- It is designed to facilitate safe driving conversations between parents and their teen drivers, or other at-risk driver populations.
The RevUp app can provide driver feedback using only Smartphone accessible data, or the app can incorporate OBD-II data when available, allowing it to not only base driving scores on GPS and accelerometer data from the Smartphone, but also upon the much more reliable statistics of OBD-II vehicle speed, odometer readings and fuel efficiency.
