Inspiration
Many times students conform to an unsaid bias imposed on them in a classroom setting and do not ask questions they might have or reply to the instructor's questions due to the fear of being labeled as dumb or someone with too many questions by their peers.
What it does
RightNow is a classroom interaction platform that enhances a student's experience and improves in-class participation. The platform allows students to anonymously ask questions and answer the professor, thereby making it easier to share opinions, without the fear of being judged by their peers.
How we built it
First off we did a user survey to verify if there were others facing a similar issue and created an Empathy Map with the users. The data was then used to identify stakeholders, define users’ needs and create ideas for the solution. We brainstormed and collected these thoughts using MIRO. Next, we did wire-framing and prototyping using Figma, and created the logo and video on Canva.
Challenges we ran into
Many times anonymity opens the doors of hatred. Though the app is meant for academic queries and answers there is a possibility that users might misuse the freedom that comes with anonymity. To tackle this issue we will include an AI-based Hate Speech/Abuses Detection feature in our product.
We had a lot of features in mind to provide the users(students and professors) with a seamless classroom experience. But we also understood that discoverability is the most important aspect of a new product. So, we listed all our features and prioritized them into ‘Must have’, ‘Good to have’, and ‘Wow/Far fetched’ features. Currently, we have gone with the ‘Must have’ features.
