Inspiration

To create an environment where any programmer can implement their knowledge and skills

What it does

It gamifies the experience of learning how to code, and optimizes the flow in which aspiring programmers and coders learn how to code. It presents them a series of tutorials and coding challenges to build their logic and problem-solving skills, and even have fun along the way!

How we built it

We took inspiration from our own lives as Computer Engineering Under-graduates, and wanted to build a better alternative to the online courses, university curriculums, and books and books of theory, something that could have taught us how to code in a more engaging manner. So we made low-fidelity models using pen and paper, and designed an educational mobile app on Figma, that can help students like us tackle coding concepts and problems in a structured manner that clearly highlight our level of coding skill

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was coming up with a workflow that would best suit both novice coders as well as more experienced programmers looking to expand their skillset. Now, of course, one size does not fit all, but we gave it our best shot in crafting questioning techniques and different types of challenges that most people can be comfortable with

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to come up with this workflow (we previously kept on refering to it as the "magic recipe"). After 24 hours of staring at our PCs, and a LOT of Drag n Drop, we our quite happy with the user experience we ultimately want to create

What's next for .Ronin

Mostly, we would like to keep on adding more languages, levels and challenges to our app, and adapt to teaching whole tech stacks like Android Studio, Solidity, and other necessary Web 3.0 skills necessary for pursuing a career in development.
