Inspiration
We had trouble coming up with ideas for this hackathon, so we decided to let an AI do the work.
What it does
This website generates hackathon ideas at the click of a button.
How we built it
We utilized GTP-3, an OpenAI autoregressive language model that uses deep learning to produce human-like text. The AI then auto-generates new and original ideas after feeding it some ideas. We also used React.js for the frontend.
Challenges we ran into
We experimented with various designs to make the website look as clean as possible since we had no prior experience in digital graphic design. The UX/UI workshop helped us create a modern and straightforward design for the website. We used trial and error to join the same server on VS Code, which allowed us to collaborate in real-time. 2/3 teammates had no prior experience with JavaScript or making websites.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We learned how to utilize GTP-3 and work with JSON files. This website was also the first 2/3 teammates have created.
What we learned
We learned how to make a REST API and utilize GTP-3 to generate ideas.
What's next for RoseBot
We hope for RoseBot to have more diverse and creative ideas in the future.
