Inspiration --> Our group would always see how people are losing things on their Snap/Insta stories. This gave us inspiration to make a single platform where people could report their lost and found items without causing unnecessary confusion on platforms that people may not have.
What it does --> People self-report lost items and found items and through our "Lost something?" page, people are able to scroll through the items people have found, and contact the person who found it.
How we built it --> We built the front-end using HTML and CSS and the backend using JAVA. The framework is SpringBoot.
Challenges we ran into --> Since this was our first time attempting a project like this, we had to learn how to use SpringBoot.
Accomplishments that we're proud of --> I am proud that my group and I were able to make such a large amount of progress in such a little amount of time.
What we learned --> We leatned how to use SpringBoot.
What's next for RUFound --> For the hackathons sake, we completed as much as we could in the time frame given. Outside of this hackathon, we plan to take this project idea forward and create an app with it that van benefit the Rutgers community.
