Inspiration
In today’s cities, housing is scarce and expensive, where too many people are priced out, while too many rooms sit underused. At the same time, in a world that feels increasingly digital and disconnected, people crave real tangible human connection.
What it does
Our platform addresses both challenges with a single solution: we connect people first, then provide housing. Through swiping and group matching, individuals can find compatible roommates, making homes that were once unaffordable alone accessible together. The result is more than just the efficient use of scarce housing: it’s stronger social bonds, shared communities, and a more sustainable way of living in the cities of the future. By bridging technology with human relationships, we create a future where people don’t just find housing, they find belonging.
Technical Description
This project is a rental matching platform inspired by Tinder’s swiping mechanics, designed to connect individuals or groups seeking rental properties or housemates in four easy steps. Initially, users can sign up, create personal profiles, and join or create groups. Groups represent housemates or potential co-tenants. Then, through our proprietary swiping mechanism groups can swipe on other groups. When both groups swipe right, they are matched. Matched groups are automatically placed into a chat where members can communicate and decide on co-living arrangements. Ultimately, the frontend communicates with the backend entirely via REST APIs, allowing easy scaling and potential future mobile app integration.
