Inspiration
We were inspired by the need to reduce illness among students through better hygiene habits. Many children don’t fully understand how simple handwashing can prevent sickness. SafeHands was created to make hygiene education fun, engaging, and lasting.
What it does
SafeHands is a simple educational app that teaches students how to wash their hands properly and stay clean. It includes fun games, quizzes, and reminders that make learning about hygiene easy and exciting.
How we built it
This project was designed using Canva and research on health education. We created mockups and a short presentation to explain the concept clearly, as part of the Ideathon track of Hacktivism II.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was turning a simple idea into a clear, practical concept that schools could easily use. We also worked to make the idea creative while keeping it realistic for real-world use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud that SafeHands promotes community health, helps students learn in an enjoyable way, and can make a real difference in schools everywhere.
What we learned
We learned how to structure and present an idea clearly using design tools, and how to think creatively about social good.
What’s next for SafeHands
In the future, SafeHands could be developed into a real app with progress tracking, hygiene rewards, and community features for schools and families.
