SafeOasis

Inspiration

We want to help people of color, women, disabled people struggling with mental and physical health, as well as LGBTQ and new parents.

What it does

SafeOasis is an easy way for people to find resources and support in a way that is catered to them and their problems. Users can log in and reach other people with similar problems. They can also find resources to help them take action; such as outreach groups, shelters, financial, and legal aid. This app makes it simple to reach out to a community that can lend their support and provide aid for one another.

How I built it

I used Java in Android Studio with Firebase and Proto.io

Challenges I ran into

Working completely online with a team was a great challenge, functionalities to work like showing up the data for the feed from the firebase was still an issue, the way we figure out the profile and filtering option is also hard
