Inspiration

As the next wave of Covid-19 is approaching our country, so we have to take appropriate steps to minimize its impact. In-country like India, People are not taking this issue seriously and not following covid safety rules, they are not wearing masks and are not maintaining social distancing. Police and government authorities are working and trying to make people aware of its impact but it is very difficult to keep a check on each and every person.

What it does

we developed a software which will keep a check on each and every person who is not following covid safety rules like not wearing a mask. Our software basically detects and saves the number plate of a person’s vehicle if he/she is not following covid-rules.

How we built it

We use Opencv along with some python libraries like NumPy etc. We trained our model to increase its accuracy to detect persons face perfectly.

Challenges we ran into

While training our software we face a lot of difficulties like it was detecting faces along with masks but we wanted to detect a person's face only when he/she is not using a mask.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This software can be used by government authorities to reduces the spread of covid and also it is a very convenient way of keeping a check on a large number of people.

What we learned

We learn to use OpenCV and learn about real-world projects that is how software should be design and what steps one should take care of while designing real-world software.

What's next for Safty_First

We want to integrate our project with a database so that it directly sends information about victim to the authorities.
