Inspiration

Our main inspiration for this idea was the revolution that the uber app brought to the taxi industry and we wanted to emulate the same sort of result and experience but in a cheaper lower scale.Also the fact that it encourages ride-sharing, which can alleviate congestion and reduce environmental impact has also been a key component of project’s inspiration. This exacerbates environmental and urban challenges.

What it does

This seeks to connect commuters going alone through a route to passengers who wish to travel along the same route. A commuter registers his route and available vacancies in his vehicle on the app. And the passengers looking for a convenient and cost-effective mode of transportation can search for available rides heading in their desired direction. With സഹയാത്ര ( “SahaYaatra” ), the process is not only efficient but also user-friendly, offering a seamless way for individuals to connect and share rides. As ride-sharing services continue to evolve, in a way that is beneficial for both riders and ride seekers, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of transportation

How we built it

We built it using robust and state-of-the-art technology in the field of web development which is lauded for its great performance and efficiency in the corporate field which is none other than the MERN stack.

Challenges we ran into

People would be hesitant to share their ride with strangers or may prefer the privacy of their own vehicles Ensuring safety of riders and ride seekers while navigating the complexities of ride-sharing protocols was paramount . Building a community of users who trust and support the platform Competition with established services like Uber and Ola Convincing users to adopt the innovative transportation concept, particularly in a market dominated by established ride-hailing services, presented difficulties in terms of changing user behaviour and preferences.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely proud and delighted to be able to do such a revolutionary project that has the ability to not only bring about the change in the automotive industry as well as to help make this accessible to all the people of society regardless of their income and to provide people an income stream as well. This project aims to build a sustainable form of transportation, thereby reducing the overall carbon footprint as well as to help conserve and save our environment.

What we learned

We learned valuable insights into innovation which will transform the way of travelling, community building, sustainability, affordability, adaptability, user-centric design, regulatory considerations, market research, and technology’s transformative power. These lessons can inspire us to think creatively and design solutions that not only address practical challenges but also contribute positively to society and the environment.

What's next for സഹയാത്ര ( SahaYaatra )

Future of SahaYaatra is full of potential for growth and development. We seek to gather user feedback in order to validate the concept further. This will help us understand how well it solves transportation problems of the modern age and whether the user finds it valuable. If the idea is well received, much more time will be invested in refining the already existing prototype to make it more user-friendly and efficient.If the project shows a promising future we hope to seek funding and other resources to further develop the concept into a fully functional product to be unveiled and used by the public on a large scale. We also hope to conduct an effective and sustainable model in all ways market research to identify the target audience,competitors and challenges to further develop our project. If Sahayatra gains the traction we hope to upscale and expand it to serve a larger user base and expand it to new heights.
