Trivia is a cutting-edge DeFi protocol designed to help retail investors understand the macroeconomics factors that rule the financial markets so they could make informed decisions when investing. ✨

Inspiration

There are three main challenges retail investors face nowadays:

• The first and most important one is losing money with every single invesment: A significant proportion of retail investors navigate choppy waters. With a range of 69% to 84% facing losses, it’s evident that retail investing, while offering potential rewards, carries substantial risks.
• The stock markets have high volatility and complexity: Such pronounced loss percentages highlight the unpredictable nature of the market and the steep learning curve many individual investors face.
• Most retail investors lack financial literacy and risk management: Given the high rate of losses among retail investors, there’s an imperative need for enhanced financial education, robust risk-management tools, and informed decision-making in the retail investment arena. Source

What it does

What we look with this project is to help users understanding and making money in the financial markets with a zero-loss betting approach, while mitigating risk and improving financial literacy for individual investors.

How we built it

• Avalanche: We deployed our smart contracts in the Avalanche blockchain. The core smart contract for the Trivia functionality could be found here: https://subnets-test.avax.network/c-chain/address/0x5574e61FE92d315Af0715AC3e3db6F61CD7934E7
• Next.js app: We use Next.js framework to build our DeFi app, with the rainbowKit package to connnect wallets, and wagmi package to manage Accounts and wallets information.
• AI brain: We are using Google's LLM, Gemini Pro 1.5, for generating the Trivia questions, answers and contexts automatically, with a writing style retail investors could understand.

Challenges we ran into

• The Chainlink suite is powerful but we didn't have time to implement it: We were planning to use Chainlink Automation and Functions in order to invoke the AI API weekly and automatically generating the Trivia questions and info, but we didn't have time to finish this feature.

What's next for Trivia Scholar

• **The next for Trivia Scholar would be to have DeFi DeFi and web3.0 course contents on the website, expand quiz contents to web3.0 and crypto-related, build Trivia DAO, and eventually airdrop of Trivia tokens and listing on the exchange.
