Inspiration
- The primary motivation is to empower citizens. The project aims to shift the focus to citizens' needs and provide them with a platform to voice concerns, participate in decision-making, and engage actively in community initiatives.
- Currently, most governmental tasks being offline, is a very tedious tasks for citizens to have their issues resolved from higher authority. Utilizing our solution to bridge the gap between authorities and citizens becomes an innovative and practical solution.
- To bring transparency and accountability to local governance
What it does
- The platform serves as a digital interface for citizens to communicate with their ward authorities
- It eliminates the need for physical visits to the ward office, enabling citizens to report complaints, make suggestions, and inquire about local issues effortlessly.
- Citizens can post their concerns on the platform, and a voting system allows community members to prioritize issues. Posts garnering more votes but remaining unresolved are highlighted, ensuring attention is directed to pressing matters.
- Notice section serves as a centralized platform for crucial announcements such as power outages, water disturbances, or other essential information relevant to the community
- Citizens can access a calendar of upcoming local events and community initiatives , which encourages community participation through events section.
- Facilitating community-driven initiatives, collaboration section enables citizens to collaborate on social programs like blood donation camps, clothing drives, or disaster relief efforts, this platform encourages collective efforts and fosters a sense of unity within the community.
In summary, this eGovernance platform acts as a catalyst for improved communication, transparency, community engagement, and collaborative problem-solving, ultimately aiming to create a more connected, empowered, and cohesive local community.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS and JavaScript for designing and creating frontend of the project. Using django restframework we connected our frontend and our database for managing data and authentication.
Challenges we ran into
While there were no any major problems while creating this project, we ran into some of the minor technical problems, which we resolved through team coordination and mentors.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We feel very proud to say that we built a platform that focuses directly on citizens problems, which directly impacts the way government works progress, giving citizens the transparency they need to hold government accountable and which solves real world problem existing in our society.
What we learned
While developing this platform we realized how important this is in the real world and how much more can be done through this platform. We also learned teamwork, collaboration, time management, and how to work calmly in a pressurized environment. We also learned how the skills of each team member are crucial to the progress of the project. We also learned different technologies like AWS, open source contribution, APIS, and other similar technologies.
