Inspiration

We have decided to reinvent a website that the students of bath will be all too familiar with: SAMIS. It is confusing to navigate, slow to use and frankly rather ugly. Our aim is to give this website a complete makeover as well as adding some additional functionality to improve overall user experience.

What it does

Our website preserves all of the core content of SAMIS but in an easier to navigate and digest way with additional functionality such as better handling for results day and a fun game to relax students whilst waiting.

How we built it

We first designed our webpages in Canva and then developed them in HTML, JavaScript and CSS

Challenges we ran into

We had never coded in any of the languages we used so understanding the syntax and style of the language alongside development was an added difficulty.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

All of it but in particular the structure of the website as we put a lot of thought into layout, colours accessibility etc.

What we learned

How to work collaboratively on a coding project and how to effectively, and quickly learn a new language whilst implementing key components.

What's next for SAMIS 2.0

Convince the University of Bath to implement it.
