Inspiration 🚀
Trying to help users improve spending habits, along with automatic expense tracking when using apple pay.
What it does 🧐
We wanted to created an expense tracker and summariser which autmatically detected payments via apple pay and adds it to the expense tracker. We also wanted an expense tracker which automatically summarises users spending using the Gemma 3(SLM), and ecnrouage healthy spedning habits, including the 50/30/20 rule.
How we built it 👀
- An iOS mobile app using Flutter at the front-end.
- Used the Python framework Flask for Back-end.
- Used Docker on AWS EC2
Challenges we ran into 😩
- Difficulties linking API between front-end and back-end.
- Merge conflicts accidentally working on the same features.
- Not standardising how we desrcibe APIs.
- Fever and sorethroats causing extreme tiredness.
Accomplishments that we're proud of 🤩
- Made a semi-functioning UI. 📱
- Successfully implemented a custom OAuth strategy for a 2 client system. 🔐
- Implemented a working CI/CD pipeline for backend which made conflict resolutions and go-live easier. 🚀
What we learned 🥸
Establish much clearer goals at the beginning. Improved understanding of using github and working in teams
What's next for Savezy 😎
- Build on the stability of the system to make it a market-ready product.
- Explore ways to automate expense tracking using various ways (Open banking APIs etc)
- Fully integrate AI features for real-time analytics.
