SBU PathFinder: AI Roadmap

Inspiration

We wanted to make academic guidance more accessible and less intimidating for students. Our ElevenLabsAI agent can speak and understand Mandarin, Hindi, and Spanish making it accessible for plenty of students. By building a NeuralSeek agent, we can give clear course roadmaps and advice, but adding ElevenLabs AI gives it a real voice, making the guidance feel more like talking to a human counselor instead of just reading text. It’s all about making planning your academic path easier and more approachable.

What We Learned

We learned how to design an agentic AI system using the NeuralSeek platform to generate course sequences, timelines, and skill recommendations.

How We Built It

• Backend: Node.js, Express, and MongoDB Atlas Cloud for storing student profiles and roadmaps.
  
• AI Agent: NeuralSeek agent generates recommendations for courses, skills, and timelines.
  
• Frontend: React interface for inputting goals and exploring roadmap outputs.
  
• ElevenLabs Integration: Generates personalized natural language explanations for recommendations.

Challenges

• Coordinating outputs from the agent to ensure coherent and actionable recommendations.
  
• Optimizing real time responses for smooth UI experience.

The result is an interactive AI roadmap tool helping SBU CS students plan courses, projects, and skill paths efficiently.
