Inspiration
We experience indecisiveness ourselves and we know many share the same fate. We believe this idea can truly push us in the right direction in helping others with scheduling and planning.
What it does
It helps with scheduling certain events based on the criteria they have. If an event has a specified start and end time (like going to a movie), or if an event has a due date (like a homework assignment), it is prioritized over an event that is more arbitrary, (like doing laundry).
How we built it
We built it using the tools given in Visual Studio 2019. We built a WPF application written in C# and utilizes a XAML GUI. We chose this because we prefer it over the GUI's written in Java or Python, since we can make a more robust application in the short amount of time we have.
Challenges we ran into
Mainly time constraints and learning aspects of C#.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning C# and creating a presentable application using the tools we have.
What we learned
C# has a lot of similar syntax to Java, but there was still a few syntax roadblock we had to hurdle over.
What's next for ScheduleInator
First RIT, then the world! If we are able to optimize this application better, it could have potential to be released publicly!
