Our stack

Inspiration

Sharewood was inspired by Robinhood and the fidelity challenge of making investing more accessible for everyone. We were also driven to integrate AI-assisted real estate valuations to address CBRE's challenge and create an all in one platform for real estate marketing and investment.

What it does

Sharewood opens a new investing market to everyone. people of any income bracket can research what development is happening in the world around them and invest in shares of properties. The company implementing this system can leverage shares in existing properties to finance the development of new ones. We also included an ML home evaluation tool that algorithmically estimates the value of a home based on images taken by an appraiser, and a criteria table of weights for each item of interest our AI detects.

How we built it

Our team realized early on that integrating this many concepts into one app in 24 hours would require a lot of planning, so we focused on design and task assignment to create a good workflow and be able to take on the challenges involved in our goal. We built the web storefront and share portfolio in Quasar and Vuejs. We connected that to firebase for auth and database tooling, and we used a VQA ML model for image processing in our python backend.

Challenges we ran into

This app was incredibly ambitious on our part. Two challenges in one spread us quite thin even though they were highly related and work together as a fleshed out project concept. None of us knew anything about machine learning before the time of posting, so learning the ropes was a hill to overcome as well

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud that we were able to go from no ML knowledge to a working deployable agent that can process images in a day. We are also proud of our algorithms we designed to determine the value of properties our AI analyzes.
