Inspiration

One in four college students have a sexually disease. According to the CDC, about half a million of new STIs were among youth aged 15-24 in the US. As a team, we want to close that gap of Sex Ed knowledge to young adults

What it does

Our websites tackles STIs/STDs by providing outreach, awareness, and prevention via quizzes that test your knowledge on these topics and provides resources.

How we built it

We built our project HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with the repl.it ide.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges we faced implementing functions in JavaScript such as getting certain buttons to show correct answer etc.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the demo to work and working in person for our first Hackathon as a school. Team bonding and taking silly pizza photos after a long day of hard work.

What we learned

We learned how to communicate and work as a team efficiently, especially when it came to priorities on how we want to tackle the look and information of the website. We also learned how to work under time constraints

What's next for SHE_Wellness

What's next for SHE_WellnessUsing Google Cloud to store, compute, and integrate data analytics from the information of the user to see how different ages, gender, and race are on the topic of Sex Health. We would register a .tech domain name using Domain.com so anyone and anywhere can access our website. We would also do better on the UI/UX part to make it more aesthetically pleasing and intuitive for the user by adding photos and music.

Worked as Full-Stack developer using HTML, CSS, JavaScript. This was my first experience at a Hackathon and my first experience with web development. I am inspired to pursue and become confident in full-stack web development.

I helped with the google slides and research on the content. I also made the conceptual mock-ups of the website on the presentation, and I ran QA tests on the program to help the programmers diagnose issues as well as provide general tech support.

I worked on the backend portion of this project. Using JavaScript, HTML and CSS for the first time ever. It was a challenge to research and implement these new languages to bring our project to life!
