Inspiration

Our moms are constantly asking us how to use technology, so we wanted to find a way to teach them one of the most basic coding languages to encourage them to learn how tech works on their own.

What it does

Our app teaches users how to learn HTML by building their own blog on WordPress. The app is set up to allow users to complete levels, with each new level teaching them a new set of HTML commands.

How we built it

We learned how to use Swift, Xcode, and UI software to build this app from scratch. We started however by mapping out who our consumers were and what their needs included. We then drew a step by step layout of what each page of the app would look like. We learned how to use the coding language Swift to write the program in Xcode. Finally, we researched user-friendly interfaces and chose UI to help us make our information more appealing to users.

Challenges we ran into

Our team was very new to hacking. We consisted of a chemical engineering student with limited coding knowledge, 2 freshmen CS students, and 1 senior CS major. Therefore, we learned a large majority of our coding on the fly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

WE GOT IT TO WORK! We also learned new languages in a very short period of time. We worked well together as a team and were able to start a promising service to help mature women get into coding.

What we learned

We learned how to work with a group of strangers from all different coding backgrounds. As mentioned earlier, we also learned Swift, Xcode, and UI.

What's next for sheinnovates

Hopefully expanding upon this app in the future and adding new courses for women to take.
