SheStrong

Inspiration

Our inspiration to create SheStrong is a friend of ours who was battling with a similar situation at home. While she and her mother were struggling with issues of abuse at home, we felt helpless because we didn't know what we could do to help her and her mother despite knowing what they were going through. We believe SheStrong will help numerous women to combat such situations and come out as strong and powerful individuals.

What it does

The main features of our app which is exclusively for women includes options to record and report evidences of violence that could act as proofs at the time of availing justice. It also creates a forum for the survivors to interact with counsellors, psychologists and fellow-mates within the community.

How we built it

We have used ReactJs for front-end, NodeJs for back-end, Ganache for local blockchain development, Truffle for framework, Solidity for Smart-Contracts.

Challenges we ran into

We felt a little bit of trouble in the integration part. Since we were working with Ganache and Truffle for the first time, the procedure was a bit time consuming. Even then we have no complaints! We enjoyed the entire learning process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are happy to introduce you to SheStrong which creates an extremely secure environment for women all over the world where they get an opportunity to speak their hearts out. We also bring into notice inspiring and untold stories of multiple fearless women.

What we learned

We mainly learnt how blockchain works and how it permanently saves data in a secure manner. We also learnt to create and work with Smart-Contracts.

What's next for SheStrong

After winning the hackathon ;);) we want to reach out to girls all over the world to create an optimistic community and every woman can be proud to be a part of it.
