Inspiration

We wanted to do something fun for our first hackathon, so we thought it would be a good idea to make a humorous joke app!

What it does

Silly Reminders is a cross-platform application that intends to not only help you create your schedule, but voluntarily destroy it.

How we built it

We used React Native and an Expo template in order to build up a web and mobile version of our app.

Challenges we ran into

We had no previous mobile app development experience, so we had to follow a lot of guides and documentation in order to get our boiler plate template to work. We struggled with module installation. It was also quite challenging to efficiently collaborate as it was a new experience for both of us. It also didn't help that we had differing operating systems.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

We learned how to utilize React Native and Expo and CLI commands to debug. We also learned Typescript.

What's next for Silly Reminders

Adding folder and tag features, and an overhaul of features in "silly mode", as there are not enough schedule-ruining features yet. We also need to add backend in order to store our reminders info.
