Inspiration

One of our team members loves ducks. She thinks they're so silly and wanted to embrace the silly goofy aspect of life. The rest of the team also realized that ducks are pretty silly and would be a perfect theme for our useless project. One of the event organizers helped us figure out what our duck project was going to be! They sent us some project ideas and we settled on a shop website. Specifically a website where we sell silly rubber ducks that disintegrate within 1 week and don't float. They also have silly costumes and back stories. When you access our website you'll find some silly duck descriptions, duck names, duck sounds and an Easter egg on the home page!

What it does

Our website tells users what our business is, how many ducks we have available, what the ducks cost and who the ducks are. There also silly features like ducks quacking when you click on them to read their descriptions and a floating duck on the home screen that leads you to a nice surprise.

How we built it

We built it using HTML and CSS! It was a lot of trial and error and research.

Challenges we ran into

There were a lot of things we wanted to do in our heads that we didn't always immediately know how to do. For example, we knew we wanted the ducks to quack, but had no idea how to make them quack at first.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're super proud of creating this website at all. The entire project definitely had a rough and slow start. We're also super proud of the extra features we coded like the ducks quacking, the duck on the home screen moving and the waves on the home screen moving.

What we learned

We definitely became more proficient and HTML and even learned a little bit about CSS!

What's next for sillyducks shop

We want to carry more ducks and add more silly features like a "you suck button" that then causes an army of ducks to run across the screen.
