Web Application for the Prevention of Skin Diseases using computer vision to detect anomalies in the skin

Inspiration

The problems in the skin in Mexico, for example, the statistics about skin cancer. We want to contribute in the ODS number 3 about health.

What it does

The purpose of this app is to make awareness about skin cancer, by having an interactive tool that can recognize moles on people's faces, with the goal to check for any anomalies.

How we built it

Our web application is based mostly on Python and bits of JavaScript, with HTML as its web skeleton, We used CSS to give the app a nice Look And Feel. As for technologies used, Google Cloud APIs and Machine Learning Concepts were required. The development process began with an extensive research about the topic, and then each of the team members were responsible for different tasks.

Challenges we ran into

We faced problems with web, design, and on the facial recognition web page. We were introduced to new frameworks, programming languages, libraries, among other features that we had to learn in 24 hours.
