Inspiration

We wanted to create a solution that empowers people to make informed decisions about their skincare routine without the overwhelm of endless products and advice. Our goal was to simplify skincare by providing personalized, budget-friendly, and effective recommendations through cutting-edge technology.

What it does

Skintellect is a personalized skin advisor app that helps users understand and care for their skin. It utilizes AI facial recognition to analyze skin conditions, builds a personalized memory through surveys, and offers tailored advice via a chatbot. Skintellect provides honest, straightforward recommendations for products and minimal-step skincare routines that fit any budget.

How we built it

We began by mapping out the user experience and creating a prototype using Figma to design the app interface. The development process involved integrating AI facial recognition technology and creating a database for survey responses. Finally, we built a chatbot using natural language processing to deliver tailored skincare advice.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was ensuring the accuracy of the AI's skin analysis while accommodating diverse skin tones and conditions. Additionally, building a chatbot that could handle a wide range of skincare questions required extensive fine-tuning and testing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of developing an AI-driven system capable of providing personalized skincare insights. Our intuitive app design makes it easy for users to navigate and understand their skincare needs. We also successfully balanced advanced features with accessibility for users with various technical skills.

What we learned

This project taught us about the nuances of AI technology and its applications in health and wellness. We gained experience in designing inclusive tools that account for diverse user needs and preferences. It also highlighted the importance of clear communication in delivering effective recommendations.

What's next for Skintellect

Our next steps include expanding Skintellect’s database to include a wider variety of skin conditions and incorporating feedback from dermatologists to refine recommendations. Future updates may include a community feature for users to share experiences, gamified routines to encourage consistency, and real-time progress tracking to help users achieve their skincare goals.
